1. National Disaster Management Authority
National Disaster Management Authority, abbreviated as NDMA, is an agency of the Ministry of Home Affairs whose primary purpose is to coordinate response to natural or man-made disasters and for capacity-building in disaster resiliency and crisis response. NDMA was established through the Disaster Management Act enacted by the Government of India in 23 December 2005. The Prime Minister is the ex-officio chairperson of the same. The agency is responsible for framing policies, laying down guidelines and best-practices and coordinating with the State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMAs) to ensure a holistic and distributed approach to disaster management.
The Chairman of the NDMA is the Prime Minister.
National Disaster Response Force
When 'calamities of severe nature' occur, the Central Government is responsible for providing aid and assistance to the affected state, including deploying, at the State's request, of Armed Forces, Central Paramilitary Forces, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and such communication, air and other assets, as are available and needed.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is under the National Disaster Management Authority.
The head of the NDRF is designated as Director General. The Director Generals of NDRF are IPS officers on deputation from Indian police organisations. Director General wears the uniform and badges of rank of an army three-star general.
The NDRF is a top-heavy organisation which in addition to the Director General has several Inspector Generals (IG) and Deputy IGs, who fly flags and wear army-style badges of rank.
National Institute of Disaster Management
National Institute of Disaster Management NIDM, is a premier institute for training and capacity development programs for managing natural disasters in India, on a national as well as regional basis. The National Centre of Disaster Management (NCDM), constituted under an Act of Parliament in 1995; was re-designated to give the present name of National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) by the Disaster Management Act 2005 passed by President of India on 9 January 2006.

EFICOR is a National Christian Organisation engaged in Development, Disaster Response and Training.
It serves the poor, socially excluded and the marginalized in situations of poverty, injustice and disaster irrespective of caste, creed, religion or ethnicity. EFICOR also works towards influencing the churches in India to address issues of poverty and injustice. EFICOR is a registered Society under Karnataka Societies registration Act 1960 on April 30, 1980. It was started as the Relief and Development arm of Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) in 1967.
Indo-Global Service Society
Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) is a non-profit organisation working with the mandate for a humane social order based on truth, justice, freedom and equity. Established in 1960, IGSSS works for development, capacity building and enlightenment of the vulnerable communities across the country for their effective participation in development. Sustainable Environment and Ecological Devolopment Society (SEEDS)
Born in 1994, SEEDS (Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society) had one ultimate goal: protecting the lives and livelihoods of people exposed to disasters. Today, we persist along the same path, continuing to focus on integrating locally based approached into each of our programs. Behind this work lies a diverse SEEDS team consisting of young professionals from various development- related fields. It is governed and advised by a board of eminent academicians and practitioners from international organisations.
Over the years, this team of committed individuals, has reached out to families affected by earthquakes, floods and cyclones; restored schools and homes; and has invariably put its faith in education to build long term resilience of the communities. SEEDS continues to advocate for and work with communities across Asia to build a safer and more sustainable world.
