Cold wet journey to Church Street
Cold wet journey to Church Street
This small intracity journey started on Friday 27th September 2019. My exams just got over that day and I was very happy and relaxed. I was urging my mother to go to church street. As I booked the OLA cab a shower began. We booked an OLA micro and after waiting for 10 minutes it came to the front of our house and we got into the car. When we got into the car the intensity of the rain increased. We were dumbstruck when the driver said that suddenly the ride got cancelled. Then my mother checked her mobile to verify whether he was right. Yes they had cancelled our ride. My mother then decided to book an another cab but this time the price had increased. They suddenly increased the fare by around 80 rupees. My mother was very annoyed and she understood that the OLA call centre guys had cancelled the ride because neither the driver or my mother was aware of the ride getting cancelled. Any way we cant rule out the possibility of a bug in the app. My mother then booked an auto because all the car cab fares had increased by 80-90 rupees. The auto then came after waiting for 5 minutes. The rain became even stronger than it was. When we boarded the auto the rain started to grow even stronger and my mother was getting wet because of the rain water which was gushing inside the auto through our left side. While we crossed Chinnaswamy Stadium an idiotic car driver who was driving very fast splashed water into our face and chest. We got wet from toe to head. In fact we felt like pouring cold water into that car driver's face while he is asleep. Then we reached MG road we told the driver to drop us near Pantaloons Church street.
Then we walked inside the lane to church street. Church street looked very different during the rains.
We walked into Indian Coffee house. My mother was very embarrassed because she was completely wet, cold and soaked We then entered the Indian Cofee House.
We ordered two cutlets and 2 coffees. Then I told my mother that I wanted to have Rose Milk. She ordered Rose milk and told me to drink both because Rose milk would be cold and having coffee after that is good for the throat as I am a regular hay fever patient. We then finished the Rose milk and coffee. I was very happy. Then we walked to Bookworm as always. But before entering Bookworm I asked my mother where was Blossom bookstore out of curiosity. She then told me "Then lets go there today for a change".
We then got into the building and we wanted to ask at which floor was blossom located. Then we saw a gentleman and we asked him. Then my mother pressed the button for the lift. It was taking a long time so as it was just three floors I decided to climb the stairs. The moment I touched my feet on the step the lift came. That is the magnitude of my luck. When we entered the bookstore it almost looked like this.
I loved the quiet environment of that book store. It is the most peaceful place in the world. I then selected two books. We spent aproximately around 3 hours in the bookstore. After buying the books I managed to get some bookmarks. We then went out and bought a cup of sweet corn to eat. Then we booked an auto to a shop called Anughraha in New Bel Road and then from there we walked to another cloth store called Max. Then we reached our house. It was a good and unforgettable experience. We surely learned a lesson- never travel in a auto during the rains.
